Boston, 2018

Tim Hale

I practice what some call ‘street photography’ – candid, seemingly random snapshots of things seen in public spaces. I draw my inspiration from the usual suspects — Evans, Friedlander, Winogrand, and Wessel, among others. I like crisply focused, bright, colorful images that emphasize the power of ‘straight photography’ to capture the complexity and beauty of what appears at first glance to be mundane events. I recently relocated from Boston to Champaign, Illinois and I am looking forward to the challenges and rewards of exploring Champaign, Urbana and Illinois.
